At Blossom Flourish Grow, our therapy assistants are instrumental in helping your child generalise skills and increase repetitions to achieve their therapeutic goals. Working closely with our speech pathologists and occupational therapists , they provide practical support tailored to your child's needs.
How does it work?

- An individualised plan will then by created for your child
- The lead therapist with discuss and train your therapy assistant to deliver weekly therapy.
- Sessions are then booked for 75 minutes including notes.
- Supervision is then provided to problem solve and augment the plan if required.
- Review of skills with a qualified therapist will then occur at the end of the term.
Therapy assistants working with pediatric clients can focus on a variety of skills depending on the child's specific needs and goals. Some common areas of focus include:
- Communication skills: Assisting children in improving verbal and nonverbal communication, such as articulation, expressive language, receptive language, and social communication.
- Fine and gross motor skills: Supporting the development of fine motor skills, including handwriting, drawing, and manipulation of small objects, as well as gross motor skills such as balance, coordination, and strength.
- Sensory processing: Helping children regulate sensory input and responses to different stimuli, which can include activities to address sensory sensitivities or challenges.
- Activities of daily living (ADLs): Teaching and practicing skills necessary for daily living, such as feeding, dressing, grooming, and hygiene routines.
- Social skills: Facilitating social interactions, turn-taking, perspective-taking, and other skills necessary for successful social interactions and relationships with peers and adults.
- Cognitive skills: Engaging children in activities to improve attention, memory, problem-solving, organisation, and other cognitive abilities.
- Emotional regulation: Providing strategies and techniques to help children identify and manage their emotions effectively, cope with stressors, and regulate behaviour.
- Play skills: Encouraging imaginative and cooperative play, as well as teaching appropriate play behaviours and social rules during play activities.
